Statistical Software Support

Position Description: The primary responsibility for this position is to provide statistical consulting for faculty, staff, and students. Additionally, this position is responsible for conducting workshops on the use of statistical software, writing documentation on the use of statistical software, monitoring statistical software contracts, and maintaining various production applications. Successful applicants will be expected to have knowledge of theoretical and applied statistics and have experience with statistical software systems supported by Technology Support Services (SAS, JMP, SPSS, Amos, Minitab, Systat, SigmaPlot, and Sample Power).

 

TSS provides statistical consulting in support of instruction, research and administrative needs, and offers training in the use of supported statistical software. A consultant is available to assist faculty, students and staff in the statistical analysis of their research data. Workshops covering the use of supported statistical software are held at the beginning of each semester, and in addition, workshops designed for a specific group can be scheduled at any time. Introductory level documentation is available for SAS and SPSS. Computer scoring of multiple choice and T/F tests is provided, and instruction in the use of this service is available.
